Jin Lan Cera is an immigrant from People's Republic of China. In 1985, as a young girl working on a central government-owned luxury liner cruising the Yangtze River, she had the opportunity to observe the Nobel laureate Economics professor James Torbin from Yale University, lecture the top Chinese leaders on economic reform. That experience inspired her interest in world economics, and she jumped into the sea of commerce once China opened its market.
Jin Lan has broad life experiences. Not only she was invited to sleep in a peasant's grass bed in Confucius hometown, but also was invited to Dr. Henry Kissinger's office for tea. Not only she enjoyed cooking for her workers their favorite Cantonese soup at the construction project cites and cleaning up the mess for the homeless people in Reno, Nevada, but also enjoyed a lunch hosted by Lord Eatwell at Queens College of Cambridge and a tour of the British Parliament hosted by Lord Borwick. She has saved lives from the mafia, death penalty and sickness, but never expected recognition nor compensation.
The first edition of her book, Powered By Wellesley, published in 2017, offered her insights into China and the US as an atheist believer. In 2019, she had an epiphany that God indeed exists. So, she rewrote the book to share her new understanding of the world and the grand impacts of Reaganomics.
Jin Lan realized that although censorship still exists in China, it switched from blocking capitalist influence from the West to filtering the promotions of big government policies since the 80s. During the same time, China's focus switched from government responsibility to individual responsibility, from fighting what's wrong to doing what's right. No more divisive binary thinking, only integration, because, in the ultimate truth, only one true life exists - the Mind of the Universe. That's why China thrived magnificently.
Jin Lan's new book, Awakening...tells how the Law of Attraction led her out from the darkness to her dream life, spiritual awakening, and Buddha dharmas. Since she is a science lover, many credible sources about life science discoveries are cited in this book. Jin Lan plans to write a series of books sharing her amazing experiences with practicing the profound Buddha dharmas. She hopes to engage with like-minded wisdom seekers to share discoveries and insights of Buddhism on her social media platforms and even meditate together. Thus, everyone benefits from the spiritual synchronicities.
Jin Lan received her B.A. degree in economics from Wellesley College and A.A. degree in general studies from Western Nevada College, summa cum laude. Before immigrating to the United States, she was a successful entrepreneur in China. She resides in Mill Valley, CA and Brooklyn, NY, with her husband, Kenneth Cera, a lawyer in venture capital business.
